GT3 prices going up

Ive just checked the used car market and was surprised to see such a huge rise compared to this time last year!
I have a 991.2 GT3 - do we think prices will continue to rise or is this the best time to sell?
Looking to get into a performante
The recent price rises on Porsche GT3/RSs are a phenomenon IMO and probably unsustainable in the medium to long term. There is currently a lot of free Government money flying around coupled with the recent 12 months of exile resulting in increased spending power. There will come a day of reckoning in a year or so when we realise the full implications of the enormous public debt accrued through the Covid crisis.I have a 991.2 GT3 - do we think prices will continue to rise or is this the best time to sell?

Probably as good a time as any to switch from a 991.2GT3 to a Performante IMO. Great choice of car BTW.
Blink twice and they will be half a mil
I know the UK is a separate market, but overall they built a lot of 991 GT/RS/Edition Cars, so while I don’t think they will depreciate to 60k like the 996/997 any time soon, I also don’t think they will be 150-200k cars forever - a lot of choice at that price point for weekend toys

The current car market is a bit odd ,shortages of stock for certain cars has led to an increase in value .Probably as good a time as any to switch from a 991.2GT3 to a Performante IMO. Great choice of car BTW.
The 991.2gt3 will maintain its value for a while ,you can’t buy a 992gt3 unless you pay overs and overs on cars at 150k list will mean a big price gap .A 991 at 130k looks good value vs a 992 at say 180k.

All of that. Just bare in mind that the Performante will also have a falsely inflated price at the moment and may take even more of a hit when the financial impact penny finally drops.Probably as good a time as any to switch from a 991.2GT3 to a Performante IMO. Great choice of car BTW.

There is that. A case of jumping from the pan into the fire perhaps......Was torn between huracan rwd and gt3. Have 991.2 gts atm and had an r8 610 before. The gts is so much more enjoyable to be in and drive than the r8, although not as much of an event. Maybe some of this due to the 4wd. So gone for a gt3. I just know after a month the lambos glitz will have worn off and I will be 20k poorer.
Re the performante, have you considered gt3rs?

Just for note, I have recently gone that direction. Had a 991.2 GT3 Manual, now a Huracan LP580-2 (rear wheel drive). After 3 months I really can say such different cars. GT3 will be much better on track, Huracan completely different on the road, more of an event. I have factory Race exhaust on, so I don't have to be going too fast for a lot of drama > Negative is the amount of attention, but I knew this coming in. Very different cars, so far I certainly don't regret the change, its a car I actually do get up early to just drive when roads quieter. Re the performante, have you considered gt3rs?
Cool. Let us know how you get on. Just got a gt3 4.0 in miami from Bolton. Was looking at a black huracan in bristol too- good guys there btw. Really was a difficult choice.
Waiting to be delivered next week. Just what I was looking for. Enjoyed the drive of the gts more than r8, but noise in the r8 was die for
Re the attention, found the r8 tiring after a while. People videoing and following me. Imagined huracan to be worse. But the looks and sound are immense.

I sold my gallardo spider because the attention was overwhelming ,if you don’t enjoy such attention I would avoid a lambo .

As predicted last Autumn car prices up across the board from vanilla to high end. So a repeat of last year driven by furlough affluence etc but with several differences this time mainly severely restricted used and new stock the latter partly caused by componentry problems.
Big delays in lead times also causing big price increases used.
But other things also are driving late GT3 prices mainly to do with the 992 most cars of which will not be landing in the UK until next year especially manuals. This together with rather marmite aspects of the new car same engine and large price hike of around 16% means many see the 991.2 as the more usable sweetspot evidenced by only 1 used OPC car left the other day being a PDK comfort at £145k approaching £30k over list ££.
Prices will inevitably rise further on proper spec cars this year due to increasing demand but where they settle next year remains to be seen but a repeat of the 981 GT4 price increase is anticipated with even 5 year old+ good spec cars still selling over list ££ retail.

Looking for a 996 or 997 GT3 currently and there does seem to be fewer around than a month or so ago.
Its a minefield to buy, crash damage, Rev ranges plus general wear and tear on a 20+ year old car!
Still have my white Gt3 after 9 years. I guess I must like it .Its a minefield to buy, crash damage, Rev ranges plus general wear and tear on a 20+ year old car!
