My Cayman 987 S is needing new boots, it currently has N rated PS2 on but no longer has a warranty and I'am sticking with Michelin.
The two choises are PS5 or PS4S, the car does not get tracked so this is pushing me towards the PS5, on Tyre Reviews site they seem to be quite evenly matched so it might just be down to price and availability.
What do you all think.

Not tried PS5 yet, but my C GTS 4.0 came with PS4S and I think they are pretty much wonderful in almost all conditions. (I do have winter tyres, but PS4S are much better in the wet than I had expected.) Wouldn't hesitate to use again, although latest Continentals are getting rave reviews.
I just found out Michelin don't do a PS5 in 265/35x19 so it will be PS4S then...ah well.
Thank's anyway.
Just for a bit of info my next door neighbour has recently had a set of PS5's fitted to his Mercedes E Class and he is very impressed with them...one to keep an eye on perhaps.

The last Contis I had were Sport Contact 5 and they wore out very quickly compared to the previous SC2 and 3 I'd fitted.
They were excellent but the increased wear made me think Conti had improved them at the cost of longevity?
Anyone care to comment on SC7 durability?
I have PS4S on my 981. They're fine and wearing well but feel they have stiffer sidewalls than the previous GY F1 A2 which I moved away from due to splits near the rim on both fronts, spotted at MOT.

I've been running the PS5's on my DD BMW for the last couple of months (and I run PS4S on my 996) the PS5's are excellent, if anything I'd say the sidewalls are slightly firmer than those on the PS4S's. Highly recommended.Thank's anyway.

Continental Contact Sport 7s. Phenomenal tyre and has moved the game on since the PS4 which is now about 8 years old. I have the CS7 on my Cayman R and it is brilliant dry or wet. Steering feel is particularly good.
Got my tyres checked today and they need replaced ASAP - tyre fitter recommended the Contis too. On P Zeros just now which had already seen a good bit of action when I bought the car but haven't been particularly impressed with them, especially in the wet, so its either PS4S or the Contis. Seems from the chat on here that Porsche aren't as strict about N rated tyres so going to give the Contis a shot.

Isn't the confusing thing there is a PS5 and a PS 5S or something weird like that? The pilot sport 5 being the ps4 replacement (ie very much a road tyre) but the 5S is the PS4S replacement (which was the supersport replacement previously)....Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
