Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari
Discussion
Whats the contract situation like with the Sainz and Leclerc?
I'm not sure Hamilton will like Leclerc beating him most saturdays but Leclerc might lean something from Hamiltons pace on a Sunday..
Plus its Italy and Italian fans.
I'm not sure Hamilton is an empire builder, more of an individual that expects a fast car rather then builds one.

As a Hamilton fan, I'd love to see him finish in red.
As a Hamilton fan I'd love to see him finish in a competitive red carI think there is no chance of Lewis going to Ferrari. He is too involved with MB on multiple projects, not just the F1 driver deal.
I’m a Hamilton fan and would love to see him at Ferrari. That would be one hell of a commercial tie up and he’s not too shabby at driving either.
Whilst CLC and Sainz can be quick they’re not WDC level in terms of pace consistency, single mindedness, ruthlessness and are pretty error prone.

As a Hamilton fan I'd love to see him finish in a competitive red carI think there's just too much risk of a Schumacher-style ignominious end to his great career, rather than the 8th WDC he craves.
But it's all fluff anyway - I can't help but be sceptical when rumours of signing for another team come out right as he's talking about a contract extension with Mercedes......

It now feel a little desperate and I really see his chances dwindling. Hoping to another team I don't see as a gracious way of trying to get it done.

I agree, I really wish he'd have won in '21 and then retired as the greatest of all time / on a high.

And that is the thing about Masi and the Red Bull thing. They actually cost him the chance of being the record winning WDC driver. It was far, far more than just a single race or even a single WDC. That the FIA allowed it is one of the reason the sport is now just a TV show and more a joke than anything I am keen to follow (unlike the last 40 years of my life!)It now feel a little desperate and I really see his chances dwindling. I wonder if the rumour has been stoked more in response to Leclerc's 'not yet' comments regarding a possible move to Mercedes, and / or a means to place the proverbial rocket up his bum.
If there's genuine meat on the bone, I can see this panning out. If Mercedes' much anticipated upgrades fail to upgrade their performance, that will likely mean next year's car will also be compromised and I'm not certain Hamilton's loyalties to them will extend much beyond this year if that's the case. If Leclerc fails to deliver some consistency with his speed, Ferrari will fall out of love with him.
