Looking for my first McLaren after a few Lambo’s & Ferrari’s and am set on a 600LT spider but it seems there are literally only a handful for sale?!

I know it was a limited run but is 5-7 cars for sale at any one time the norm? Or can I expect more to come online as we get nearer to summer?

Of course anyone selling or thinking of selling do give me a shout directly!

They're getting snapped up sharp. I know a couple of people who have purchased lately.

Right car/right price goes. Orange is popular.... not everyone wants buckets...they're amazing cars. Good luck

Apart from the Sarthe grey car they’re all quiet low spec, the Sennas and the external visible carbon packs would of added thousands to the list price when new, the Green car at Sterlings was for sale when I bought my 1st coupe well over a year ago ,,,,

The green car at Sterlings was for sale when I got mine over 18 months ago, it’s one to avoid it seems.

When I purchased my car in September 2022 there was 30+ for sale and the numbers available have been slowly reducing with good spec in good colours selling fast.

Amazing cars and values if anything on good spec cars have gone up since I purchased.

Chris Harris himself said he prefers the 600 LT over both 488 Pista and Huracan Performante which makes the 600 LT a bargain with the Spider been the obvious choice.

Good luck finding one.

I like the green one, my only concern is no bowers and the mix of carbon packs - it has pack 1 but not 2 so I’m not sure if the carbon and palladium looks like a mis match? I would rather have all or none of the external carbon if so.

I would imagine the dealer could be a contributing factor to it not selling, seems nice enough but very reluctant to have any meaningful conversations to sell unless you use his finance which is 2% higher than the going rate. The car also isn’t with him so can’t provide videos etc.

Anyone know anything about the red one? Another dealer who seems to be hard to get answers out of - that one I have seen the last service report and McLaren stated the discs should be checked further, dealer has said they are “fine” but when pressed as to why they are highlighted on the report he has gone quiet!

What fortuitous timing as I was going to start a similar thread today.

I'm also looking for a 600LT Spider.

I went through to Glasgow a few weeks ago to get some background info on the cars. At the time they had a black spider along with both an orange and a silver coupe with Senna seats. It was actually my wife who was far keener on the idea of the Spider so that was a bit of a bonus. Another bonus was she loved the Senna seats and thought they looked great in the car. Obviously I'd want a full McLaren SH and I'd like a McLaren warranty.

I've got to say my surprise has been the number of cars with comfort spec seats and upgraded music systems and with less carbon pack options that I was expecting. I was expecting things to be more akin to Lotus Exige spec cars with the focus more on "hardcore" rather than "softcore" looks. I do appreciate the cars themselves are hardcore enough I probably just expected carbon packs and Senna seats or bucket seats to be more common.

I'd also expected there to be far more volcano coloured cars or at least more orange coloured ones. I love the contrast between the carbon bits and the body colour and I love the idea of an "in yer face" colour so for me blacks and greys etc are all out.

I did enquire about the red car at Brookspeed on the basis that if I was going to have to compromise on some spec the colour was very appealing. The salesman told me it was an SOR car with full McLaren SH and he'd get back to me with the cost of adding the warranty which the current owner could purchase and transfer. That was about 3 weeks ago. I did call back and spoke to a different salesman who apologised and said he would call back with the info. That was 2 weeks ago. Make of that what you will.

The orange spider at Glasgow last week didn't hang about. By the time I asked for info and a video a deposit had been taken. Again tho, it has the comfort seats.

Hey ho. It's actually exciting when I get a "ping" when my alerts on Pistonheads and Autotrader go off so at least that's something.

The green one with Sterling has been up for sale for 26 months. It’s been taken down and reappeared 3 times during that period but the mileage has never changed.

£167k in January 2022
£161k in June 2022
£143k now

He was the first guy I spoke to. He was the guy that the 2nd salesman said he would refer to before calling me back. He was the guy I emailed directly asking if there was any issues getting the information.

I think I’ll pass on them. First impressions and all that.

Inspection and 12 months warranty about £4K plus whatever cost ( if any) of things that need doing to get to that point, the Red cars generally don’t sell that well for some reason, this one is a low spec comfort seat example although does have the £3600 B&W and Carbon interior ( must have) I’ve not seen any without security pack,

This is the same experience I have had. No urgency with responses and having to chase constantly which is strange given the car has been with them for around a year according to the posts on their instagram.

Probably best to stick to main dealers.

Without wanting to sound like a 675 owner, the high spec cars are in the hands of longer term owners. The cars for sale are the poor spec cars or ones to avoid like the plague, like the lime green car at Sterling........

You’d expect the sterling one they would be eager to sell then, which doesn’t seem the case!

Makes the situation even more stranger…

Just out of interest what reasons would there be to avoid cars that are being sold with main dealer warranty? Bodywork issues & neglect?

Although warranty is great it doesn’t mean anybody wants a car that lives in the workshop of course!
