Overview

Quite simply, the GR Yaris is a rocket-fuelled pencil sharpener. This tiny little car was already bursting out of its own shirt, thanks to the 250 hp that Toyota bestowed upon it at the factory. And when you take into account the upgrades by Litchfield Motors, you get a recipe for supreme performance.

Added to the extremely desirable tuning work carried out, this GR Yaris benefits from extremely low mileage: just 192 miles since it was first registered in October 2022. We’re told that the owner forgot about it: we assume that somehow they had enough other toys to play with in their garage, so it has spent most of its time unused.

This means that everything about the car retains an air of freshness that you just don’t normally see outside the showroom. The interior is very smart, with barely a speck of dust upon it, and the paintwork is as good as they come, with the added benefit of a satin wrap for extra protection. Basically, it’s a new car.

The ‘GR’ in GR Yaris stands for Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s in-house motorsport division. And we have motorsport to thank for this car’s existence. In order to enter their three-door rally-spec Yaris into the World Rally Championship, Toyota had to offer it as a production car (which had been planned to be dropped in favour of just building the five-door version). So Toyota spent a remarkable amount of their resources producing the roadgoing GR Yaris in order to continue their presence in competitive rallying. A decision which does them credit.
